N&M Hosted the Silicon Photonics Sensing in AI Healthcare Forum - Unveils the Future of Homecare Innovation
N&M successfully held the “Silicon Photonic Sensing in AI Healthcare Forum” at National Tsing Hua University this June. Co- organized with the Hsinchu City Public Health Bureau, Yuehan School, and the Hsinchu City Managers Association, the forum brought together leading experts from academia and industry to explore how silicon photonic (SiPh) sensing and AI can revolutionize non-invasive monitoring, light-based therapy, and remote care.
N&M Chairman Rone Chiu opened the forum by highlighting N&M’s commitment to silicon photonic sensing platforms - key to enabling low-power, miniaturized, high-sensitivity solutions. He also noted the recent establishment of N&M’s Taichung verification lab and ongoing collaborations with hospitals and academic institutions to accelerate real-world adoption.
The program featured keynotes from ASE, Rayleigh Vision, Zequn Technologies, and NTHU Garage+ on topics ranging from packaging and reliability to AI-driven manufacturing. CTO Dr. Ching-Fuh Lin presented new applications trends of SiPh sensing in smart healthcare, emphasizing real-world use cases for chronic disease monitoring and at-home therapeutic systems.
Special guests such as NTHU Vice President Dr. Ping-Chiang Lyu, AIT Commercial Officer Christian Kochil, and representative from the Hsinchu City Public Health Bureau expressed strong support for Taiwan’s leadership in photonic sensing and emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration in healthcare innovation.
Looking ahead, N&M will continue to strengthen partnerships with medical institutions, research labs, and international collaborators to develop innovative, market-ready solutions that are competitive on a global scale. This initiative aims to unlock the full potential of silicon photonics in the next era of health technology.
