N&M Chairman Joins Feng Chia University Innovation Competition as Judge, Promotes Innovation-Driven Learning

Nano & Micro Photonics (N&M) remains committed to fostering innovation and promoting education. Chairman, Rone Chiu was honored to serve as a judge for the Feng Chia University Science and Technology Innovation Application Competition. Alongside experts from academia and industry, he witnessed students showcase impressive creativity and interdisciplinary collaboration as they turned innovative ideas into earl solutions.

Hosted by Feng Chia University, the competition encourages students to identify real-world challenges and propose practical solutions that demonstrate applied academic knowledge.

“We were highly impressed by the students’ teamwork, system integration capabilities, and their ability to connect classroom learning with real-life problems,” said Chairman Chiu. “It’s an honor to participate in this event. These students show great potential in transforming ideas into real innovations. Universities should continue to nurture flexible learning approaches and emphasize teamwork and structured thinking to help students address market needs.”

Chairman Chiu further emphasized that in today’s rapidly evolving technology landscape, future talent must possess not only technical proficiency, but also problem-solving abilities, strong collaboration skills, and a deep understanding of the market. His advice to students: "Continue learning across disciplines, stay curious, be bold in practice, and don’t shy away from major challenges."

At N&M, we are not only advancing silicon photonic sensing and smart health technologies, but also actively cultivating future innovators. We will continue collaborating with academic institutions to support hands-on, meaningful education that equips students for the future.
