N&M Joined the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2025 to Expand the Ecosystem of Silicon Photonic Sensing

This year, N&M joined the Taiwan Semiconductor Delegation organized by the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and participated in the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit. The week-long trip across Los Angeles and Indiana provided valuable insights into U.S. semiconductor policy, innovation trends, and local tech ecosystems.

During the trip, N&M engaged with leading research institutions, including UCLA’s High-Speed Electronics Lab, USC’s Nanofab Lab, the CA DREAMS Hub, Purdue University’s Birck Nanotechnology Center, CREATES, and FAMES. Through discussions with research teams, N&M explored future directions for silicon photonic sensing, particularly focusing on cross-border R&D, integration, and commercialization opportunities.

Chairman Rone Chiu noted that the States is actively showcasing its semiconductor R&D and manufacturing capabilities, presenting an excellent opportunity for transpacific collaboration - especially in the fields of photonic integration and sensor commercialization. The two sides possess complementary strengths in engineering execution and academic innovation.

Finally, special thanks to AIT for facilitating direct connections with local governments, research institutions, and innovation hubs. N&M remains committed to advancing silicon photonics globally, strengthening international partnerships, and accelerating technology commercialization that shapes the future of sensing innovation.
