N&M recently paid a return visit to the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) to explore potential collaboration in applying silicon photonic sensing technology to the smart textile sector. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on forward-looking applications in wearable health monitoring, functional fabrics, and next-generation medical devices.
Specializing in advanced silicon photonic light sources and detectors, N&M has established silicon photonics platform especially in mid- and long-wave infrared. TTRI is committed to the innovation of textile technology and its application in combination with other wearable & sensing technologies.
During the meeting, TTRI showcased its latest developments and discussed how N&M’s sensing modules could be incorporated into textile-based solutions for real-time physiological monitoring, occupational safety, and digital therapeutics. Both parties expressed interest in pursuing future collaboration and outlined preliminary plans for technology validation and modular integration.
