The Director, Joe, and the Business Development Lead, Bert, from the State of Texas, Taiwan Office recently visited Taiwan N&M to exchange insights on industrial cooperation, exhibition promotion, and technology research and development.
During the meeting, the Texas Office in Taiwan stated that it would assist the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) in organizing the Taiwan Expo USA 2025– Smart Healthcare Pavilion in Dallas, Texas. This initiative aims to help Taiwanese companies enter the U.S. market and enhance their brand visibility.
In terms of technological cooperation, the Texas Office in Taiwan proposed facilitating collaborations between startups and local manufacturers, promoting technology proof-of-concept (POC) projects, and accelerating the implementation of innovative solutions.
Chairman, Rone Chiu stated that the company expects to establish a silicon photonic sensing ecosystem and work closely with local packaging, wafer, and testing factories to advance AI and healthcare developments. He emphasized that through equity exchange or mutual investment, the cooperative relationship can be strengthened, fostering the integration of both parties' technology and market resources.
As a key player in Taiwan’s silicon photonic sensing industry, N&M spun off from National Taiwan University and remains committed to driving innovation based on fundamental physics. The company believes that the U.S. market is not only vast but also operates under a distinct brand development model compared to Taiwan. Partnering with local firms will enhance its international competitiveness.
This meeting underscored the immense potential for collaboration in technology and industry. Moving forward, both sides will continue to strengthen exchanges, promote concrete cooperation initiatives, and further integrate the industrial chain.
