Recently, Taiwan Nano & Micro-Photonics Chairman Rone Chiu attended the Inter-State Networking Reception organized by the American State Offices Association (ASOA), where he engaged with leaders from both Taiwan and the U.S. in government and business sectors to discuss future opportunities for Taiwan-U.S. technological collaboration. The event featured welcoming remarks from ASOA President Yen Shu-Fen, Director-General of MOFA's Department of North American Affairs Liang-Yu Wang, and AIT Commercial Officer Christian Kaschil, all emphasizing the significance of strengthening Taiwan-U.S. relations in advancing technology and economic partnerships.
The speeches highlighted the growing closeness of Taiwan-U.S. ties and the deepening cooperation between the two sides. For example, several U.S. states have recently established representative offices in Taiwan, underscoring the dynamic nature of the relationship. Given Taiwan's critical role in the global supply chain, particularly in the semiconductor and high-tech sectors, collaboration between Taiwan and the U.S. in technology innovation, economic development, and security is vital for upholding shared global values and driving advancements in cutting-edge technologies.

During the event, Chairman Rone Chiu expressed gratitude to AIT Commercial Officer Christian Kaschil, particularly for AIT's efforts in promoting the SelectUSA program. This initiative has significantly enhanced awareness of silicon photonics sensing technology in the U.S. market and helped Taiwan Nano & Micro-Photonics make substantial progress in building the silicon photonics ecosystem. Rone noted that the cross-disciplinary applications of silicon photonics, especially in smart health, smart homes, and smart cities, will shape a safer and more intelligent future and serve as focal points for further collaboration with the U.S.
The networking reception showcased the U.S. states’ recognition and support of Taiwan’s high-tech capabilities, further strengthening mutual trust and cooperation. Taiwan Nano & Micro-Photonics remains dedicated to bringing its homegrown silicon photonics sensing technology to the international stage and actively seeks collaboration opportunities with American enterprises and research institutions. Chairman Chiu emphasized that U.S. states’ support for Taiwan's high-tech industries provides tremendous market confidence for Taiwanese startups.
